As we charge full speed toward opening night, the excitement is building, and the magic is truly coming together. ROOM MONITOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Please take a few minutes to look over the Shrek Volunteer Room Helper Notes—thank you so much for your time and support!
VOLUNTEER PARKING
If you volunteer on Sunday or Monday, please park near the playground.
- The north side of the building near the gym is reserved for sponsors.
- The spots directly in front of the gym are reserved for ADA parking.
- There is no general parking on the north side of the lot—only sponsor and handicapped parking.
To help our cast stay engaged and ready for their scenes, we will have a live stream of the performance available in each dressing room. This will allow all cast members to enjoy the show while also keeping track of their cues and entrances.
- M-3 actors: Recognizing downtime between their scenes, students are welcome to bring coloring activities or a small personal activity to help them remain calm while waiting for their big moments. NO TECHNOLOGY, PLEASE!
- 4th and 5th-grade actors: Since these students are in more of the show, additional activities are not as necessary.
- All students should bring a water bottle (water only, no other drinks, and no hot beverages).
- Snacks will be provided during the show. Please do not send in your own snacks, as we have carefully selected costume-friendly, non-residue options.
COSTUME & DRESS CODE REMINDERS
- Mechina – 3rd-grade students: For each SHOW, please arrive in full costume, makeup, shoes, and hair. Since students will be coming and going in costume, you may want to bring an oversized shirt to wear over their costume if they go out for a meal between shows.
- 4th-8th-grade students:
- Arrive in undergarments and street clothes—costumes will be put on and worn at the venue.
- Ensure you have appropriate undergarments to be comfortable in your changing room (there are no mixed genders in the 4-8 dressing rooms).
- It is recommended that jazz shoes stay in the dressing room to prevent scuffing or damage outside.
- 3rd-5th, please do not worry about makeup for tomorrow. You can do makeup for Friday only! Please do your hair through!
- M-2 will see you in hair and makeup on Friday!
REMINDER FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS
To maintain focus and respect the rehearsal and performance process, we kindly ask that parent volunteers refrain from taking photos or videos during scenes and practices. In addition to fostering a professional and immersive experience for our young performers, this policy ensures we remain fully compliant with our licensing agreement for Shrek JR.
Dress rehearsals are closed rehearsals. They are not open to parents or guests. Thank you!
SNACK & MEAL REMINDER FOR THURSDAY
Tomorrow (Thursday), SAGE lunch will be provided for our cast and crew and a snack will be available in the late afternoon for all cast and crew. However, there will be no dinner service, so please plan accordingly.
Thank you all for your support and dedication!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you again for all that you do—we couldn’t pull this off without you!
With gratitude,
The Dress Rehearsal Team
